Imam Hossain’s martyrdom aimed at protection of Islam in society and its continuity for generations to come.
The Islamic revolution in Iran took its pattern from Áshoura uprising, and it was impossible save because of lessons it learnt from Imam Hossain’s uprising. In fact the incident started in Karbala, continued in Imam Khomeini’s movement. Inspired by the school of Áshura and the chief of martyrs, Imam Khomeini, gave life to the revolution’s body. For this same fact, protection of Islam in Imam’s point of view had the foremost importance, to the point that, by foreseeing danger for Islam, he said: we have prepared our chests for spear points of the enemy.
